Aims and purpose
The aim of this unit is to ensure learners know about different types of computer game, understand the impact gaming has on society and are able to design, develop, test and document computer games.
For this unit we will be using Unity 3D to develop a simple 2D platform game, on completion of this unit you will be familiar with the Unity 3D game engine editor, importing and working with assets and creating custom behaviors using scripts to control the movement and animations of a character. A basic knowledge of programming is expected however this tutorial is targeted for beginners and will rely on Unity’s scripting guides for reference. https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/topics/scripting
